New connection to Traverse City man arrested for murder in assault case
The Traverse City Police have arrested 50-year-old James Wemigwans of Traverse City for the accused murder of Jeff Donalson.
Police say both men knew one another and had a history of disputes in the past.
According to the police, Jeff Donalson was taken to Munson Hospital after he was found on his back, unconscious under the North Union Bridge on Thursday July 10.
Police say the victim had severe head and chest injuries.
Donalson never regained consciousness and died in the hospital from severe trauma to the head on Sunday.
The medical examiner determined that the cause of death was a homicide, caused by assault.
Wemigwans' bond was set at $500,000 on Thursday and scheduled to be arraigned on Friday.
