      New trail plans for Sleeping Bear Dunes

      A new hiking and paddling trail has been proposed at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park that follows the Lake Michigan shoreline.

      A new hiking and paddling trail has been proposed at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park that follows the Lake Michigan shoreline.

      The trail would extend from Platte Bay to Good Harbor Bay. According to the National Park Service, they will call this proposed trail the 'Bay to Bay Trail'.

      Currently, no canoe/kayak route has been developed and only a smaller looped trail route exist.

      This proposed trail would include designated and singed route, lake access points, as well as backcountry campsites.
