New website launches hoping to connect more veterans in northern Michigan
TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU) -- A local veteran organization is hoping its new website will help connect them to even more people in northern Michigan.
Project Cherry Tree was established last year and is an advocate for veterans’ support issues in northern Michigan.
They just launched their new website, which has lots of resources available for veterans and also keeps people up to date with what they're doing.
They're hoping the new site will help link people together.
“Working with our legislators and then working with those here locally will help make lasting impacts on those services and changes in those services that will benefit the nearly 68,000 veterans here in northern Michigan,” said executive director, Steven Chowen.
Chowen says the new website was possible with funding from the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians and help from volunteers.
