Northern Michigan experiences short heat wave

The last couple of days have been some of the warmest this summer.

Many residents flocked to the water Tuesday after feeling temperatures that reached nearly 90 degrees in some areas of northern Michigan.

Cooler temperatures at the beginning of summer had many people thankful for this mini-heat wave.

According to previous weather reports, temperatures for more than half the month of July have been below the normal summer average in northern Michigan.

Current forecasts expect the next couple of days to remain warm, but not far above average temperatures for this time of year.
