      Officials investigate Presque Isle County infant's injuries

      A 3-week-old male infant from Bismarck Township is on life support after receiving what deputies are calling "non-accidental" head and internal injuries Thursday.

      According to the Presque Isle County Sheriff's Office, a 3-week-old male infant from Bismarck Township is on life support after he sustained non-accidental injuries Thursday.

      The Presque Isle County Sheriff's Office says that it received an emergency call from a Bismarck Township home at 8:20 P.M. on Thursday, April 3rd reporting that the infant had stopped breathing.

      The infant was transported to Alpena Regional Medical Center and then down to a hospital in Saginaw, where he was placed on life support. There, it was determined that the infant had sustained a non-accidental injury. Deputies are withholding the name of the hospital at this point.

      The Presque Isle County Sheriff's Office says that the infant is currently on life support in Saginaw with head and internal injuries. The Presque Isle County Sheriff's Office also says that the parents were home at the time of the incident.

      Presque Isle County deputies, Child and Family Services, Michigan State Police, and Saginaw County investigators are all currently investigating the incident.
