Boat crews and divers from the Mason County Sheriff's Office are continuing their search for a man who they say drowned over the weekend.

Members of the Ludington Police Department, Ludington Fire Department, Mason County Sheriff's Office and the United States Coast Guard were called to Pere Marquette Lake around 7:09 p.m. Sunday for a man in the water assistance call.

Investigators said a group of three adults and three children were boating in the area between the Ludington Boat Club and the Ludington Yacht Club when the wind blew a tube into the water.

Cutter immediately jumped into the water to retrieve the tube, according to investigators.

Reports indicate that he was having trouble and the remaining occupants threw him a life jacket but the wind blew it away.

At this point, there is no indication that alcohol played a part in the incident.
