Leelanau County Officials will be inspecting the troubled Sugar Loaf Resort property.
A judge granted the county's request Wednesday, after residents who own homes on the resort complained of building code violations.
Leelanau County Administrator Chet Janik said the process has been complicated, because of conflicting reports on who owns the ski resort.
A purchasing agreement was signed to buy Sugar Loaf last September, but the buyer was never disclosed.
At the time, a website for controversial entrepeneur Liko Smith said he was buying the land to revamp it.
The Sugar Loaf Resort has been deteriorating since in closed in 2000, and it has affected everything from business to property values.
