Open house being held to try out new voting equipment in Grand Traverse County
GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- Ahead of the next election, the public is invited to come test out the new voting equipment being implemented in Traverse City and Grand Traverse County.
Officials said there is minimal change on the voters end.
Voters will still fill out a paper ballot and feed it into a new and improved tabulator which tallies the vote.
There is also a new ExpressVote machine that allows people of all abilities to cast their vote independently.
To make sure everyone is comfortable with the new voting systems, there will be an open house this Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6:40 p.m. at the Governmental Center in Traverse City.
You do not have to be registered to vote and you do not have to be a resident of Traverse City.
