Pedestrian dies after being hit by car on M-42
The man who was hit by a car while looking at a road sign on M-42 has died at the hospital.
Raymond Gurley, 55, of Greenfield, Tenn., was injured on M-42 near LaChance Road in Missaukee County.
According to the Missaukee County Sheriff, Gurley parked his semi tractor trailer, exited his truck and was looking at the road sign.
A car driving east on the road slowed down as it came upon the parked truck and hit Gurley as he walked in front of the car.
He was airlifted to Munson Medical Center where he later died. The driver was not injured in the crash.
Alcohol was not involved in the crash, the Sheriff's department reports.
