A fantastic extended stretch of fall weather will not only lead us through the rest of the week but the first half of the upcoming weekend as well.
A large broad area of high pressure is situated just northeast of Lake Huron and is in no hurry to move along, which is great for Northern Michigan residents if you enjoy sun filled days, comfortable temperatures, and clear nights. There have been areas of frost both Sunday and Monday nights, but the frost threat should be over the remainder of the week as nighttime lows remain above freezing.
Over the rest of this week into the beginning of the weekend, temperatures will slowly warm with 70's forecasted Thursday through Saturday.
No rain is on the short term horizon, however, the approach of a cold front will lead to showers and perhaps some thunder Sunday. Even then, it does not appear a big soaking is in store.
