Pilot, passenger unharmed after plane crashed during landing
Two people walked away with minor injuries after their plane lost control while landing at the Frankfort Airport early Sunday afternoon.
The incident involved a Great Lakes bi-plane that caught a strong wind gust and landed on its nose in a nearby field.
The Frankfort Airport manager says the plane was coming in for a landing and was five feet above the ground when the pilot, who lives in Benzie County, lost control of the plane.
The female passenger was taken to the hospital for minor bumps and bruises and is expected to be okay.
The Federal Aviation Administration will be investigating the incident.
