Police expand search for SUV involved in deadly hit and run
The Traverse City Police Department has broadened the focus of the suspect vehicle in the hit and run incident that killed Kelly Boyce Hurlbert on July 5.
Original witness information said the SUV was dark colored, but new information and witness interviews lead police to include silver SUV's in their search.
Police say this does not exclude dark colored SUV's or trucks.
Investigators say Boyce was hit by the SUV and dragged for more than 1 1/2 blocks to the 700 block of Washington Street just before 2 a.m. on Friday. Friends say Boyce was riding her bike home from North Peak Brewing Company where she worked.
Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Traverse City Police Department. Police are looking for anyone who may have been traveling on or near Washington Street at the time of the incident. Police say while the information may have seemed insignificant at the time, it may be very important to the investigation.
Information should be directed to Traverse City Police Detectives, who can be reached at 231-995-5152. Anonymous callers can also use 231-947-8477.
Friends and family have raised $20,000 as a reward for information leading to the arrest of the person or people responsible for Kelly's death.
