Police identify body found in Gratiot County

GRATIOT COUNTY, Mich. – The Gratiot County Sheriff’s has identified the body of a man found by hunters.

The body was found on a property near Warner Road, just north of M-46 in Seville Township inside a plastic bag on March 11.

67-year-old Robert Jack Counterman Jr. was positively identified with help from Sparrow Hospital and the Michigan State Police.

It appeared Counterman’s body had been there for a couple of days and was intact.

Police are still investigating what happened to Counterman.
