Police: Inmate, 21, bites corrections officer twice

GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU) -- A 21-year-old inmate is facing a new charge after allegedly assaulting a corrections officer.

It happened Sunday at 4:05 a.m.

According to the Traverse City Police Department, a corrections officer went into the inmate's cell and woke him up.

We are told the inmate then took a swing at the officer and then bit the officer twice in the arm.

The inmate is facing a felony charge of assaulting a corrections officer.
