The Michigan State Police Cadillac Post are trying to identify a man who sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl at a Manistee County Beach on Tuesday.

The victim was at the Eleanor Lake Beach near Brethren when she was assaulted by a stranger. The suspect is described as an unshaven white male in his late twenties or early thirties. He has short dark hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing jeans, a Detroit Tigers English "D" T-shirt and a red, white, and blue jacket. He is thought to be around 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing around 150 pounds. The suspect may have identified himself as Richard or Ricky.

The police are looking for two vehicles that may be associated with the suspect. The first is an older, extended cab, full size, two-tone Chevrolet pickup. The truck is green with a wide gold band along each side. The second vehicle is a full size dark blue pickup with a black topper that is the wrong size for the truck bed.

Police believe that the suspect is camping in Manistee or Wexford Counties with family. They think he may have ties to the Gaylord area.
