Police receive more than 100 volunteer applications for Baby Kate search
More than 100 people have volunteered to assist in the search for the remains of Katherine "Baby Kate" Phillips next month.
Ludington Police say they will pair nearly 80 plant experts with search and rescue volunteers to create four search teams.
In April, police asked for special volunteers for what they described as a "forensic botanical search."
In a letter, Baby Kate's father Sean Phillips, who was convicted of the unlawful imprisonment of his 4-month old daughter, said they he had put her in a peaceful place,
Police say the shoes he was wearing the day his daughter disappeared had a certain kind of plant material on them. They hope the plant experts might lead them to Baby Kate's body.
The search will take place in late June.
