Police searching for suspect accused of assaulting a 16-year-old in Traverse City
The Traverse City Police received a phone call about a 16-year-old woman who was grabbed by a man in downtown Traverse City Sunday night.
According to the Traverse City Police, the incident happened in the south alley of the 100 block of E. Front Street. The victim says the man grabbed her, pushed her up against a car and tried to grope her.
The victim saw an employee of a business throwing out trashed when she yelled to her for help. The suspect ran off.
After 30 minutes, the police were called by the victim's mother.
The police say the victim describes the attacker as a white male, 5'8-5'9, dark hair, 'scraggly' facial beard, and wearing a red or orange hooded sweatshirt.
The victim was not hurt.
