The Traverse City Police are investigating a bomb threat to the CVS on Front St and Division.
Police say a man with a middle-eastern accent called the CVS asking for money or he was going to "blow up the pharmacy."
A K-9 unit with the city police arrived on scene shortly after 12:30 p.m. and entered the building.
The store and parking lot were blocked off until police gave the all-clear around 1:20 p.m.
Police believe this call is part of a nation-wide scam, and is similar to threats called in to several northern Michigan drug stores last month.
â??I don't believe it's the same caller but the same scam. A person typically with a middle eastern accent will call, demand the money be wired to them and state that if that doesn't happen then they'll blow the building up,â?? said Traverse City Police Captain Mike Ayling.
Police are looking into where the call came from. If it came from somewhere in the United States they will pursue the case and reach out for help from other police departments.
