Record highs on Friday
Tonight will be another warm, humid night. Lows from 62 to 70 degrees will make it one of the warmest nights of the entire summer...although fall begins tomorrow. Light wind. Patchy fog and clouds overnight...and a few spots of rain are possible, but more likely in the Upper Peninsula.
In the U.P. to start Friday AM...there could be a shower or a thunderstorm passing thru. Any of us in northern Michigan could face fog or clouds to start the morning. The afternoon heat will be the story. Highs will range from 82 to 92 degrees...and record highs for the date will be threatened. Record highs for Friday's date...Traverse City-90 set in 1908...Gaylord-83 set in 2004...Sault Ste Marie-85 set in 1920...Houghton Lake-89 set in 1941...Alpena-87 set in 1941. Each of these records could fall on Friday. Wind from the south 5-15 mph.
Friday evening will be warm and muggy for high school football. At sunset...most of the temperatures around the region still will be around 70 degrees!
Saturday and Sunday will be mostly sunny. Both days we'll see highs 80 to 90 degrees. And you will feel the humidity. Wind will be 5-15 mph from the south or southwest. And, of course, tons of sun.
