Renter arrested on drug charge from Indiana after leaving behind meth lab mess in Fife Lake

A suspected meth lab is being cleaned up in Kalkaska County, after a landlord noticed suspicious items left behind by renters.
The Traverse Narcotics Team and the Kalkaska County Sheriff's Office is investigating the meth lab dump site in the Fife Lake area.
TNT received information from a concerned citizen that two people may have been manufacturing methamphetamine in a home they were renting. The landlord asked the couple to leave after noticing strong chemical smells coming from inside the home. After the couple moved out, suspicious items were left inside the home.
TNT and members of the Methamphetamine Response Team responded to the home and confirmed the items left behind were chemicals and components used to manufacture meth.
While investigating the scene, detectives saw the suspects driving in the area. One of the suspects, a 36-year-old Indiana man was arrested for a warrant on felony drug charges in Indiana. The 23-year-old woman was released at the scene but may face charges related to the manufacture of methamphetamine.
