Ric's Food Center in Interlochen robbed, suspect fled

Surveillance photos released of the suspect who robbed Ric's Food Center in Interlochen.

The Ric's Food Center in Interlochen was robbed Wednesday night around 9 p.m.

According to the Grand Traverse Sheriff's Department, a white male subject entered the store with five returnables, equaling 50 cents.

The suspect proceeds to the front of the store to turn in his receipt. As the female attendant opens the cash register, the suspect reaches over and grabs a small amount of money.

The suspect then flees from the store where two female employees chase after him, losing him on the south side. The employees report they saw him run into the woods.

A K-9 unit was called in but was unable to locate suspect.

The sheriff's department says that no weapons were displayed or mentioned by the suspect.

Employees told authorities that the store was not very busy and usually closes around 11.

The suspect is described to be around 6ft, white, medium build, short beard, light hair, in his 20's as well as wearing dark shorts and a dark hoodie.
