Road worker killed, driver arrested after Wexford County crash
A road worker was killed and another was injured after deputies say a semi hit a utility truck on U.S. 131.
The incident happened Monday night on U.S. 131 near M-115 at northbound exit ramp 176.
According to the Wexford County Sheriff's Office, a semi-tractor trailer crossed the white fog line and hit a parked utility truck and a large lighted highway arrow trailer.
Deputies say workers were out of the truck finishing work on a highway sign.
One of the workers, Sean Jordan from Holly, was killed due to this collision, deputies say. A second worker, Daniel Moomwa from Troy, was taken to a hospital in Cadillac and then flown to a Grand Rapids Hospital. We are told Moomaw is in good condition at the hospital.
The driver of the semi, identified as 42-year-old Scott McCant of Grand Rapids man, was arrested and charged with reckless driving causing death, according to the sheriff's office.
