Roscommon County man arrested for selling counterfeit baseball cards
A Roscommon County man was arrested after police say he sold copies or counterfeit ungraded baseball cards through consignment.
Brian James Elowsky, 39, of Prudenville, was arrested in Gladwin County.
He is being charged with three counts of false pretenses of $1,000 or more, but less than $20,000.
Elowsky faces a maximum of five years and/or $10,000 fine. He was also charged with being a habitual offender fourth offense.
According to Michigan State Police, three victims have been identified so far in both New York and Michigan. Examples of the counterfeit cards are Mickey Mantle, Babe Ruth, Ted Williams and Sandy Koufax cards.
