      Routine traffic stop leads to discovery of marijuana, ecstasy

      Two people were arrested after State Police discovered marijuana, ecstasy and several other drugs in their car.

      Two people were arrested after State Police discovered marijuana, ecstasy and several other drugs in their car.

      A trooper stopped the car Monday in LeRoy Township as a part of a routine traffic stop. An investigation led to the discovery of marijuana, MDMA - more commonly known as ecstasy - and several other drugs that have not yet been identified.

      The driver, a 21-year-old man from Petoskey and the 19-year-old female passenger were arrested. They are being held in the Osceola County Jail at this time.

      Names have not been released pending the investigation. Additional charges are expected.
