Scouting event gives local athletes a look
Thirlby Field played host to the second annual Lake Michigan Football Exposure Camp on Friday.
Over 115 athletes participated in drills like the 40 yard dash, pro agility shuttles and the bench press, all in hopes of impressing scouts that came up from several colleges in Michigan including Ferris State, Grand Valley and Saginaw Valley.
Organizers say they want to expand these programs into more local sports than just football.
Childress Sports held a camp for volleyball back in April and they have a similar one scheduled for basketball next month.
