Sentencing of suspects in Traverse City meth lab bust
The two men who were arrested on May 1 for operating a meth lab on Barlow St. in Traverse City on May are being sentenced.
William Stevenson was sentenced Friday to 6-20 years. He pleaded guilty in May to operating and maintaining a meth lab.
As part of the plea deal, three other charges were dropped at the sentencing.
Jacob Kobza is scheduled to be sentenced on July 16. He pleaded guilty on June 20 to possession of methamphetamine.
Two other charges will be dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
The other suspect involved, Elizabeth Smith, is being charged with five counts. Her final conference is scheduled for July 3.
According to the Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Department, the narcotics team noticed suspicious activity at 1629 Barlow St. Officers then found components of a meth lab inside the home.
