Sheriff: Man shot in face, one person arrested

The Benzie County sheriff said a 58-year-old Elberta resident was arrested after a man showed up to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the face.

BENZIE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- An Elberta resident was arrested after deputies said a man was shot in the face.

According to investigators a 33-year-old man entered Paul Oliver Hospital early Sunday morning with a gunshot wound to the face.

The Benzie County Sheriff's Office was called and the investigation led them to a home in Elberta.

Deputies searched the home and conducted several interviews.

A 58-year-old resident was arrested on a charge of assault with intent to murder.

The 33-year-old victim was transferred to Munson Medical Center and listed in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
