Showers Monday give ground to sun much of the week

Although we start our work week on the cloudy side with showers, much of this upcoming week looks dry and relatively quiet.
An area of low pressure will spin by well south of Northern Michigan with pieces of energy pinwheeling around that system leading to pretty extensive cloudiness as well as showers Monday. It wonâ??t rain all day long and some places (especially north) will see very little if any rain Monday, but showers are certainly going to be passing through. A rumble of thunder cannot be ruled out either.
Showers end Monday evening with the clouds gradually breaking up as well. That will start a stretch of quiet weather that will take us through the early part of next weekend. A ridge of very warm to hot air will build in across Iowa/Illinois/Indiana where 90's are possible this week. Northern Michigan will remain in the 70's for daytime highs. The primary storm track will shift south/west of us mid/late week riding along the periphery of that ridge keeping rain chances locally pretty slim this week.
The first day of summer arrives a week from this upcoming Friday.
