A Northern Michigan road is closed to traffic after a sinkhole formed Tuesday. According to Kalkaska County Dispatch, the sinkhole developed on County Road 612 in the westbound lane due to a culvert failure. As of Tuesday night the hole was about 2 feet in diameter.
The Road Commission has shut down traffic on County Road 612 between Rosenberg Road to Crawford Lake Road in Excelsior Township. They do not have an estimate as to when the repairs will be complete but are asking motorists to avoid the area.
