D ispatchers and road commissions across Northern Michigan have been busy working through the snow storm.
As you can imagine there have been dozens of accidents across the region, but snow plow drivers are doing their best to keep the roads safe.
Grand Traverse County Dispatcher James Domagalski says,"Compared to an average day we're quite a bit busier. We've had about a dozen accidents today and that's significantly more than a normal day, when roads are clear and dry."
The Grand Traverse County Road Commission has thirty drivers out clearing the roads Tuesday. They will all be working overtime on twelve hour shifts throughout the night.
In Wexford County they've been fighting the weather with 21 drivers. Just six will stay on and work overnight to clear the main roadways like M-115, M-37, US 131, and Boone Road.
In Emmet County 25 drivers worked overtime until 6:00 p.m. Tuesday evening. Three drivers will clear state highways overnight.
