Stapleton declared competent to stand trial
The mother accused of attempting to kill her 14-year-old daughter has been deemed competent for trial.
Kelli Stapleton is facing attempted murder charges after she allegedly attempted to kill herself and her daughter, Isabelle, in Benzie County.
She was ordered to go through a competency evaluation before it would be determined if she would face trial. All court proceedings were delayed until the results of the hearing.
Stapleton's attorney said they expected her to pass the evaluation.
