Sun & summer heat for Thursday

Thursday will bring more temperatures well above normal and lots of sunshine.

High pressure over the Great Lakes is bringing northern Michigan another beautiful day to get outside!

Morning fog will burn off, leaving us with lots of blue skies Thursday. Highs will once again be in the 80s with light winds. Low temperatures tonight will be very mild - remaining in the mid 60s.

Low pressure will work its way out of the plains and along a front to the south of us. This will touch off scattered showers and possible thunderstorms as we head later on into the overnight hours.

For Friday, expect more cloud cover and to keep the umbrella handy. Showers and storms will remain in the forecast throughout the day. The good news - the rain looks to clear out for the evening, leaving us with some cloud cover heading into Saturday.

The start of the weekend will be dry with some sunshine, and the warm temps continue. Enjoy it while it lasts - changes are on the way.

A cold front will move through Sunday, bringing more rain and thunderstorm chances. The notable change will be the temperatures - although skies will be sunny, highs will drop to around 70 degrees for Labor Day and into the coming workweek.
