Sunshine lingers into the start of the weekend with slightly cooler weather Thursday

A mainly sunny sky on tap once again Thursday with coolest temperatures expected to be along Lake Huron and the Straits of Mackinac.

The recent stretch of pleasant weather shows no signs of changing anytime soon with sun filled days expected to continue through at least Saturday.

One change in the weather Thursday however is it will be a little cooler compared to Wednesday. Winds will turn out of the east/northeast with most spots falling back into the 60's (replacing the 70's and low-80's) we had Wednesday. Coolest readings will be near Lake Huron along US-23 and through the Straits area including around Mackinac Island with a cooler breeze off of the lake. Another day filled with sunshine is on tap.

More of the same Friday right into the start of the weekend with mainly sunny skies and comfortable temperatures in the 60's to low/mid-70's (coolest at the lakeshore).

The only chance for rain for the next week (and it's not a slam dunk) will be Saturday mainly south of M-72 but even that will be scattered into Sunday morning as a cold front passes. We believe there will be at least some scattered passing showers around that time but nothing substantial. Cooler Sunday with low/mid-60's. High pressure will nudge back across the area early next week which once again will lead to more quiet/uneventful weather next Monday and Tuesday.
