The suspect who was arrested for assaulting a man in Mecosta County has been identified as Joshua Voorhees.
The Mecosta County Sheriff's Office says the assault happened Saturday, August 2nd in Barryton when Voorhees and the 22-year-old victim got into an argument inside of a vehicle. The vehicle stopped on the side of the road on 20 Mile Road near 30th Avenue around 3 a.m.
Sheriff's officials say Voorhees had to be pulled off of the victim before leaving the person severely beaten. The victim received several broken facial bones.
Voorhees was arraigned on assault with the intent to do great bodily harm less than murder as well as felonious assault.
