Suspect in Mason County hit and run formally charged
The suspect in the hit and run that hospitalized a Scottville man has been formally charged.
Brian Keith Blackburn, 24, was charged with operating while intoxicated causing serious injury, failure to stop at the scene of an accident resulting in serious impairment, possession of marijuana and operating while intoxicated second offense and two counts of assaulting/resisting/obstructing.
Blackburn was arrested following a hit and run crash in the Shop and Save parking lot in Pere Marquette Township Wednesday afternoon around 4 p.m.
The victim, Scott Dumas, a Mason County Central teacher, was in serious but stable condition at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids. As of Monday, he was upgraded to fair condition.
