Police arrested a man after he was found inside a Clare business early Saturday morning.
Police were called to an alarm at Wood's Household Furniture in Clare, and that's where they came across an open door.
Officers found Michael Ballas inside and when they went to arrest him, Ballas fought back.
He has been charged with breaking and entering with intent to steal property, attempted malicious destruction of fire or police property, two counts of assaulting, resisting and obstructing police and a habitual offender charge. All of the charges are felonies.
Ballas is being held at the Clare County Jail on a $25,000 bond. He is expected to be arraigned in court on Monday.
