Sydow gets 3-15 years for relationship with middle school student
The 18-year-old Pellston student who pleaded guilty to having a relationship with a middle school student under the age of 13 has been sentenced to 3-15 years in prison.
Sterling Sydow, 18, was accused of having a inappropriate relationship with a child under the age of 13. The Sheriff's Department reported the relationship lasted from the summer of 2013 to Jan. 2014.
While originally charged with six counts of second degree criminal sexual conduct, he pled guilty to two counts on March 4.
Sydow was sentenced to 3-15 years each for two counts of second degree criminal sexual conduct. Those sentences will be served concurrently, meaning at the same time.
Sydow will also be required to be under lifetime gps monitoring as a sex offender.
