      Talented dancer celebrates Native American heritage

      7&4 News Today continues its summer segment showcasing talented kids around Northern Michigan. Tyra John, 12, from Suttons Bay performed a hoop dance in our studio. Hoop Dancing is a healing dance in the Native American culture. Tyra has been hoop dancing since she was 7 years old. She has performed in four national competitions in Arizona and also enjoys dancing at local events. Tyra says she feels very proud when she dances.
