The second annual Taste of Traverse City wrapped up Sunday with the Best of Brunch competition at The Hagerty Center.About 300 people attended the brunch this morning to judge their favorite of four different competitors.The Hagerty Center, Blue Heron Cafe, Om Cafe, and As You Dish all competed for the title of best brunch.
The menu items varied from savory to sweet, including items such as eggs, ravioli, donuts and French toast.
Drinks were also part of the competition. Each dish came with a paired beverage and separately there was a bloody mary competition.
Organizers say having a brunch competition is a great way to end the weekend filled with delicious food.â??It's all friendly competition,â?? said Taste of Traverse City Founder Carol Lewis. â??We just kind of threw those little zingers in every now and then to get everybody excited and there's nothing better than wrapping up with this fabulous brunch. Good drinks, good food, good company, there's just really nothing better on a Sunday.â??Northern Latitudes won in the bloody mary competition with their apollo horseradish vodka and The Hagerty Center and Higher Grounds Coffee won for best brunch.
