A 15-year-old Cadillac boy was taken to the hospital after being hit by a car while crossing the street.
According to the Cadillac Police Department, the incident happened Tuesday around 3 p.m. at the corner of W. Pine Street and N. Mitchell Street in Cadillac.
Police say a 34-year-old Leroy woman was on W. Pine Street turning north onto Mitchell Street. They say she did not see the pedestrian crossing in the crosswalk and hit him while making her turn.
The teen was alert and conscious but was taken to Munson Hospital.
The driver was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian.
Cadillac Police are reminding the public that pedestrians have the right of way at crosswalks. They ask that drivers "take an extra second" to check for pedestrians before entering the intersection.
