The Coast Guard rescued a 16-year-old boy attempting to swim across Betsie Bay in Frankfort Saturday night.
Around 9 p.m., a witness called 911 after hearing two teens calling for help from the bay.
A crew was launched from Station Frankfort on a 25-foot response boat.
When they arrived on scene, they rescued the teen in front of the city boat launch. The other teen had already made it to shore. The 16-year-old was treated for hypothermia.
The two teens were not wearing life jackets.
They were both released with no medical concerns.
The Coast Guard encourages people to wear life jackets while out on the water. They also say itâ??s important to make sure someone knows your plans when you are in and around water.
