There is a little bit of everything in weekend forecast

While a good chunk of Northern Michigan will see a quick round of snow Saturday morning (an inch or two) most of that will lift into the Eastern U.P. by late morning with any snow melting and switching over to rain across the Lower Peninsula Saturday afternoon/evening.

Across the Eastern U.P., it will be colder and as a result, the snow will be reluctant to switch to rain leading to the potential for a quick 4-7" of snow Saturday with the highest totals near Sault Ste. Marie. Temperatures will range from the mid-30's across the U.P. to low-50's along/south of highway M-55. With that milder air passing over the snowpack, patchy fog is a good possibility too.

Clouds break up Sunday leading to afternoon sunshine. A warmer and rather wet week in the forecast for next week.
