      Three arrested after selling drugs in East Bay Township

      Three people were arrested Wednesday on charges of trafficking illegal narcotics.

      Three people were arrested Wednesday on charges of trafficking illegal narcotics.

      According to the Traverse Narcotics Team, authorities began an investigation into suspicious activity at a business in East Bay Township after multiple tips told them illegal drugs were being bought and sold out of a hotel room.

      Authorities obtained a search warrant and executed it Wednesday evening.

      Four total suspects were identified but only three were arrested and held in the Grand Traverse County Jail. The fourth suspect already had warrants out for their arrest.

      TNT reports of the three arrests, two were local residents and one was from Detroit.

      Authorities seized 38 grams of crack cocaine, six grams of heroin and eight grams of methamphetamine as well as evidence that suggests the drugs were being packaged for sale.

      The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $8,000.

      Authorities also seized approximately $4,500 in cash and is believed to be directly related to the sale of drugs.

      Detectives also reported seeing drug paraphernalia around the room that indicated heavy drug use by the occupants.
