Three charged in Oceana County cocaine bust

Angel Viti-Perez, 35, was charged with two counts of conspiracy to deliver cocaine in the first degree - a felony punishable by life behind bars

Three men were charged after police busted them with more than 1,000 grams of cocaine, a semi-automatic pistol and cash on Friday.

Jesus Avilez-Perez, 24, Angel Viti-Perez, 35, and Abel Gamez-Morales, 35, all with ties to Mexico, were each charged with two counts of conspiracy to deliver cocaine in the first degree - a felony punishable by life behind bars.

The three were arrested after a traffic stop on US-31 near Polk Road in Hart Township. Michigan State Police Troopers said they found cocaine that was ready to be sold.

The men are currently being held in the Oceana County Jail on $100,000 bonds. Officials said their immigration statuses are being investigated as well.

All three are expected back in court on October 21.
