Summer sweeps in Friday with summerlike weather following right in its heels.
High pressure and quiet weather will remain in play for Northern Michigan Wednesday and Thursday with low/mid-70's Wednesday and mid/upper-70's Thursday. Sunshine will prevail with dry and comfortable conditions.
However, by Friday and into the upcoming weekend, warmer/more humid air will get drawn northward with a muggy airmass in place. Temperatures will rise as a large ridge builds in from the Central Plains. Many of us will get into the 80's along with those humid conditions. I would not be surprised at all if a few spots Sunday and Monday top 90F across our southern counties.
To top things off, a warm front will be situated somewhere over the area. That front will be focus for rounds of thunderstorms starting Friday through the weekend into early next week. Timing when and where storms will develop or sweep in will be dependant on the actual placement of our warm front. In a nutshell, rounds of storms are increasingly likely with some storms possibly severe Friday through Tuesday. It certainly won't rain the entire time, but those of you with weekend plans should keep a watchful eye with the 7&4 Storm Team.
