A special meeting was called at the Blair Township Hall Wednesday night to address a harassment claim made against the supervisor.
The claim was filed by the current township clerk, Linette Wolfgang. The grounds of her claim were not specified, but it is not sexual in nature.
D ozens came out to learn more and voice their concerns regarding how the situation has been handled.
T he board called the meeting to consider stripping Supervisor Pat Pahl's duties. They were also looking into hiring a manager to pick up those tasks.
T ownship Attorney Shawn Worden says they can do that, but at this time, he believes the decision would be premature.
" The board is absolutely right when they say they have the ability to remove non - statutory duties from the supervisor for whatever reason ," said Worden . "That would be quite a feat to do without stating a reason or having some investigation behind that and allowing the supervisor to respond."
A two-member committee was appointed to work with Worden to select a third party to investigate the harassment claim.
T he other items on the agenda were removed , so no duties were taken away from the supervisor.
" Everyone has a right to assert such a claim whether it's founded or unfounded. You have a right to bring that up. That's very clear in our handbook and we should take it very seriously, and we do. "
