Traverse City man arrested for murder in assault case
Traverse City Police say they have arrested a man for murder that they say relates to the death of a man who was found unconscious underneath a Traverse City bridge.
According to the Traverse City Police Department, Jeff Donalson was transported to Munson Hospital after he was found unconscious under the North Union Street Bridge on July 10.
At the time, officers did not know what caused Donalsonâ??s condition. It was later determined that he had been the victim of an assault.
Donalson never regained consciousness and died in the hospital on Sunday, July 13.
Detectives say the medical examiner determined on Tuesday that the cause of death was a homicide caused by assault.
Traverse City Police developed a suspect in the case and arrested a 50-year-old Traverse City man on Tuesday for the murder of Donalson.
