Traverse City man arrested in U.P. drug investigation
CHIPPEWA COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A Traverse City man was arrested on multiple drug charges in a drugs smuggling investigation.
Officers from the Tri-County Drug Enforcement Taskforce (TRIDENT) identified a house in Rudyard where they believed drugs were being smuggled into the United States.
Investigators intercepted a package and conducted a controlled delivery to the house.
According to investigators, two search warrants were also issued and more drugs and smuggling evidence was found.
Austin Liebrecht, 22, was arrested on Thursday.
Liebrecht was charged with possession with intent to deliver MDMA/ecstasy and possession of amphetamine.
Each count was given a habitual offender enhancement as well.
