Traverse City man could face 'super drunk' charge

A 63-year-old Traverse City man was arrested for drunk driving in Leland Township and could face a 'super drunk' charge.
According to the Leelanau County Sheriff's Office, the vehicle was located in Lake Leelanau at 12:05 p.m. after someone reported a vehicle traveling the wrong way on St. Mary's Street.
The 63-year-old parked at the St. Mary's church lot and was contacted on foot a short distance from his vehicle.
The driver blew a 0.227% and was arrested for operating while intoxicated.
In the state of Michigan, a person who was a BAC of 0.17% or higher may face the super drunk charge.
The suspect is behind bars in the Leelanau County jail.
