Traverse City woman facing charges after lying about being raped
A Traverse City woman is facing criminal charges after lying about being raped to officials.
According to court records, Mikayla Lynn Zachman-Clark, 18, made a report on October 3 that Sonny Bernhardt forced her to take a pill and then sexually assaulted her.
Bernhardt denied the claim and in November of 2013 Zachman-Clark admitted that she lied about being sexually abused by Bernhardt.
Zachman-Clark now faces the criminal charge of False Report of a Felony with a maximum sentence of 4 years in prison and/or $2,000.
